PLEASE NOTE WE ARE CURRENTLY
CLOSED FOR PUBLIC RUNNING
STANDARD OPERATING DAYS 2020
On Sundays and Bank Holidays, if there is no special event planned, we run a steam train service from 11.30 until 4.30.
The first standard operating day in 2020 is Sunday 12th April and the last is 25th October.
The site is always free to enter - we make a charge for train rides (including Drive-a-Diesel when available) and on special event days for some attractions provided by third parties. Parking is free.
The train departs Becconsall for Delph station every 20 minutes, The ride is not long (about 400m) but you can ride as many times as you like on your ticket.
At Delph the engine uncouples from the train and runs round to the rear end, ready to pull the train back to Becconsall. You can stay on the train, or alight onto the platform to watch proceedings. Feel free to take photos - our staff will be happy to help you take selfies or group pictures with the engine.
Don't forget to have a look in our shop at Becconsall Station. As well as a wide variety of railway-themed gifts, books and postcards, hot and cold drinks are available.
