Our Santa Specials were very popular, with no less than 70 sold-out trains!

To all our customers in 2019, thank you for your support during the last twelve months, and our warm wishes for a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

The Railway is now closed for public services until Sunday April 5th 2020, when we hope to welcome you back to share in a new season of running narrow gauge trains!

Our railway is a short 2ft-gauge passenger line in the village of Hesketh Bank, between Southport and Preston.

It features locomotives, wagons and other equipment from long-gone industrial sites in Lancashire, other parts of the UK and overseas.

We run steam trains on Sundays and Bank Holidays from April to the end of October.

We also hold special event days, including Easter Egg Hunts, Galas, Teddy Bears’ Outings and Santa Specials.

Come and have a ride on our railway!

We will be delighted to see you, and you will be helping to preserve a valuable part of our industrial heritage.

The timetable of events and list of fares are here.

We are now owners of own site!

After months of hard work and negotiation we have completed the purchase of the land on which the Railways sits, thereby saving it for future generations to visit and enjoy!

We are very grateful to all those who have made this possible, in particular those who have generously donated or loaned money towards our Redevelopment Fund.

We still need to pay off the loans and progress our plans for improvement of the siteVisit our Redevelopment page to see how you can help us achieve our goals (and earn a reward) or simply click on the donate button. =>

This great little railway has a lot of atmosphere and an unusual history

Come and join us!

There's always lots to do maintaining and improving our locomotives, rolling stock and operating facilities, not to mention crewing our trains and running the shop.

If you would like to get involved, we would be very pleased to see you.

More details are here.

Some photo stories of what we get up to are here.
