It's been ten years since we had significant snowfall at West Lancs, appropriately enough coinciding with the Santa Specials. In Bulgaria it's a more frequent occurrence.
Here a short passenger train departs the village of Avramovo in the south-west of the country. The gauge is 76cm, compared to the 60cm or thereabouts of ours. The 125km line runs from Septemvri to Dobrinishte and is operated by Bulgarian State Railways.
