2019 NEWS UPDATES
December 23rd
Yesterday was our last day of operation for 2019, with the final batch of our very popular Santa Specials.
Some rather weary volunteers head off for a well-earned Christmas break, before regrouping in January to prepare for our new 2020 season.
Next year promises to be an exciting one, with a number of new developments - watch this space!
And if you're in the mood for New Year Resolutions, how about one to consider volunteering to help run the Railway - there's lots to do both on the rails and trackside. Come and see us any Thursday or Sunday afternoon!

Our new film is now on sale!
Over the summer Oldman Films have been busy filming the Railway in operation, interviewing volunteers and looking for a lost Teddy Bear...
The DVD is on sale now here, and is also available in the shop, priced £5. The proceeds will go towards the Railway's preservation activities.
The Railway has made a donation in respect of the film to support the work of the Salvation Army with children.

Congratulations to Simon Moore on passing out
as a steam driver!
Alan Jones, one of the Railway's Trustees, shakes
the hand of our newest, and youngest, steam
driver, whilst Joffre looks on approvingly.
We need more like Simon, to learn a trade with
the Railway and inspire a new generation of
members to play their part in running and
developing the Railway.
If that could be you, please get in touch!

Last Sunday was our Teddy Bears' day, with record crowds at Hesketh Bank to join in with the fun and games and take their teddies on a train ride. It's gratifying to see so many visitors at the Railway, and to get reviews like: 'fab fun family day out run by lovely volunteers' and 'fantastic day out & volunteers lovely and knowledgeable.'
