We're 50 years young this year!



We had a very special 50th Anniversary Gala on the weekend of the 23rd and 24th of September, with lots of special attractions, including no less than six engines in steam!

The weekend, and its predecessor the Nearly Fifty Gala in August, were very well attended. We are very grateful to those who came to share the celebrations with us, and to the many people (members and non-members) who worked hard to make the events such a success.

Looking ahead, there is the potential for renewal and further development of the Railway. The way in which everyone has pulled together to make this year special bodes well for the challenges of the future.

Entrance to the site is free.

Special fares will apply for train rides: Adults £5, children £3.50, family  (2 adults & children) £14, over 60s £4.50.


Trains will run about every 20 minutes from 11.00 to 4.30. You can ride all day on your ticket.


Tickets (£6 each) for the Saturday evening entertainment & food will be available in advance from the shop, or by phoning 07595 679 869.
